Biography
Brian is a founding partner of the Cambridge architecture firm, Anderson Porter Design, Inc., with local, national and international experience in design and architecture. With over 25 years of experience in the field of architecture, and four years of concentration in architecture for the Cannabis Industry, Brian brings strategy and design to high performance buildings and spaces. APD engages clients in a data driven incremental approach which enables organizational learning around the human activities which drive creation of architecture and interior spaces.
Brian merges a RISD education in the craft tradition of making and designing objects with an analytic data driven process to understand and enhance client value. He has a Masters degree from Harvard and has been in practice since 1992. Brian combines expertise in: strategic thinking, designing for Controlled-environmental Agriculture and coordinating specialist teams for the Cannabis Industry. Brian brings design experience with a specialization in energy efficient design and sustainability.
Brian began working with Cannabis clients since 2014. He is working with a number of clients in various stages of state approvals process across several states. He provides guidance and strategy including: real estate evaluation, municipal representation, team coordination of sub-consultants and engineers, and coordination with security consultants and chiefs of police. Moreover, APD focuses all its project on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) through careful coordination of building planning, critical systems and FDA/WHO guidelines. APD works closely with clients for optimization of performance and operational flow of facilities. APD has designed 20+ retail dispensaries and over 750,000 SF of cultivation facilities locally, nationally and internationally. In the process he and his firm have developed a proprietary stage gate process for project delivery specific to the Cannabis Industry.
