Biography
Leah D’Ambrosio is the COO of Baked Smart, the creator and distributor of Cannacals™, the world’s first edible cannabis safety solution. After being an executive assistant for over 25 years, she left the corporate world and brought her passion of cannabis and food to Oregon. In her research of finding ways to mark actual infused foods, she found a perfect solution and partnered with a manufacturer to create her signature green cross decals that mark all of her infused foods. For states that can’t use the green cross, her Cannacals™ have been designed to meet regulations and are currently being by edibles companies across the nation.
Being an executive assistant is like being a mom – you anticipate everyone else’s needs so being an advocate for marking edibles came naturally to Leah. She doesn’t want to eat an edible unknowingly and she doesn’t want anyone else to either. It’s Leah’s passion to help ensure edibles are put in the best light possible for the future and feels confident she can do this by encouraging edible makers to proactively mark their infused products.
In October of 2020, Leah hosted and organized the industry’s first ever conference dedicated entirely to the education and business of edibles, the Everything Edibles Event. She is currently working on the 2nd annual conference scheduled for October 2021. She believes with legalization comes the responsibility to educate others on the benefits of cannabis and how to safely use this amazing medicine.
Leah is also a philanthropist. In 2008, she co-founded with Kathleen Prasad, the Shelter Animal Reiki Association, the world's first organization dedicated to improving the lives of rescued animals and their caregivers through meditation. Their global organization has hundreds of members who are bringing meditation to shelters, sanctuaries and rescue centers which has helped to bring peace and calm to thousands of animals around the world.
